Way back in the year 1953, a dynamic young man named
Shri. Rattan Lal decided to set up a business of milk procurement
and selling. It involved sourcing milk from all over U.P. and then
transporting it to Delhi for sale on a daily basis. In the course
of his endeavour, Shri. Rattan Lal discerned the immense potential
of milk product, the changing tastes of the consumers and the varied
demands of the market. With this in mind, he set up a first modern
Chilling and Pasteurization Plant in 1970, in the private sector
at Hapur (UP), by the name of 'RATTAN' Dairy.
In 1985, another dairy products manufacturing unit was established
at Okhla, in Delhi, with an installed capacity of 1,60,000 litres
of milk per day. This Plant was a reflection how the visionary Shri.
Rattan Lal was responding to the changing market needs. Here, manufacturing
of skimmed milk powder was started with ghee as a by-product and
these products were launched in the market with the brand name of
'RAJAT'. Consumers readily accepted these products and in fact this
brand became the household name and popular in areas - in
the markets of Mumbai, Calcutta, Andhra Pradesh, North-East, Gujarat,
Bihar, Haryana, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.
Again, in the year 1992, when the demand of dairy products, with
well established brand name of 'RAJAT' was going higher and higher,
due to quality of products being maintained and controlled by the
well experienced staff, Shri. Rattan Lal took the decision to establish
even a bigger Dairy Plant at Kundli (Sonepat). This Plant was armed
with state-of-the-art equipment and systems. This Plant was equipped
to process upto about 3,00,000 litres of milk per day. Skimmed Milk
Powder, Whole Milk Powder, Dairy Whitener, Butter and Ghee comprised
the Plant's Portfolio with brand name 'RICHA' and 'RAJAT PREMIUM'.
This unit started functioning in the name and style of M/S Daily
Foods (India). The total charge of this unit was handed over
by Shri. Rattan Lal to his eldest son Shri. Rakesh Kumar, who was
assisting him in the business since 1978 and gained a lot of experience
in the line. This is how M/S Daily Foods (India) came into existence
and started functioning with the long experienced people in the
line.
It goes without saying that a key person - Shri. Rakesh Kumar, who
gained a lot of experience in the milk business from his father,
is fully aware about the importance and necessity of hygienic conditions
to be controlled and maintained at all level of processing of milk
and milk products. This is why all the equipment installed at Daily
Foods (India) have been procured from the leading manufacturers
like- M/S Seppo Relli of Finland, M/S Damrow, U.S.A. and Alfa Laval
Dryer. Further, a continuous Butter Making Machine and a Butter
Churn are also in operation for manufacturing best quality of butter.
